Haoyu Chen (she/her) is a service designer dedicated to creating equitable and sustainable solutions in caregiving, healthcare, and community development. Rooted in social design, her work explores how design can foster systemic change and empower communities.
Currently pursuing an MFA in Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts, Haoyu collaborates with hospitals, caregiving institutions, and local organizations to improve service processes, enhance professional environments, and build community-driven strategies. Her recent projects include redesigning caregiver workforce developmentĀ models, developing strategies for community engagement in healthcare settings, and leveraging design research to inform policy and organizational change.
With a background in industrial design, Haoyu integrates systems thinking, participatory design, and storytelling into her practice. Her work spans diverse sectors, from elder care and mental health services to cultural heritage innovation.
Outside of design, she is passionate about photography, cooking, and exploring museums all over the world.
